| Shmuel Bowman is an experiential
educator with a passion for connecting North American Jews to
Israel. An avid hiker and outdoors enthusiast, Shmuel utilizes the beauty and
ruggedness of Israeli trails as his classroom to convey ideas on Jewish
values. Shabbat experiences are opportunities to strengthen communities,
and Shmuel taps into the spiritual feeling by leading singing, dancing,
discussions, and learning. Shmuel’s collection of real life stories
has been the subject of frequent speaking engagements in
Israel,
Russia
and across
North America
.
Shmuel Bowman hails from Toronto,
Canada. He and his wife Leah (originally from Detroit) made aliyah in 1993,
and have been involved with several Jewish educational programs
including Livnot U’Lehibanot, TorahCanoe, Hillel at Tel Aviv University,
birthright israel and Aish HaTorah Toronto. Shmuel started studying
sofrut (Torah Scribe) in 1997, and gets very excited about the Hebrew
alphabet. His seminars on the wisdom of the Aleph-Bet are educational
and entertaining.
Shmuel joined the Israel Defense Forces in
time for the Gulf War in 1991, and has served with the Israel Police.
The Bowmans live in Efrat (near Gush Etzion) with their five young
children, Yoav Netanel, Ruth, Gavriel, Meital and Zohar.
Shmuel is a sacred scrolls dealer of
Israeli-produced Torah Scrolls, Tefillin, Mezuzzot and Megilot
for communities and individuals in
North America. |
